Grown Brilliance has introduced its “Melrose” collection, marking the company’s first venture into pink and blue lab-grown diamonds.
This collection takes its name from the brand’s storefront at 8483 Melrose Place, Los Angeles, which opened in December 2023.
Inspiration and Design
Akshie Jhaveri, the creative director and founder of Grown Brilliance, drew inspiration from the architectural elements of the Los Angeles store. She emphasized the influence of organic shapes, the play of light, and color in the store’s design on the new collection. Additionally, the broader California landscape, including locations such as Catalina, Rodeo, and Del Mar, inspired the names of the new rings, necklaces, and earrings.
Industry Context and Technological Advances
The debut of colored lab-grown diamonds by Grown Brilliance follows similar trends in the industry, such as Swarovski’s 2020 launch of a 16-color lab-grown diamond collection. Advances in technology have enabled companies to replicate and innovate beyond the hues found in natural fancy-colored diamonds.
Jhaveri commented, “Lab-grown diamonds give us more ability than ever to create what we imagine, especially when considering a collection like Melrose, focused on fancy-colored diamonds. We are able to create the highest quality colored diamonds, in a wide range of carat weight and consistent color, delivering true luxury with exceptional value.”
Collection Details and Availability
The Melrose collection features 20 pieces, incorporating 18-karat white, yellow, and rose gold. While the focus is on fancy pink and blue lab-grown diamonds, the collection also includes white lab-grown diamonds. Price points for the jewelry range from $5,000 to $44,000.
The Melrose collection launched in July and is currently available for purchase on the Grown Brilliance website.
