Edward N. DeCristofaro, president of LDC Inc. in Providence, Rhode Island, has been elected chair of the MJSA board of directors.
DeCristofaro previously served as MJSA board chair from 2012 to 2014, during which time the organisation relocated its headquarters to Attleboro, Massachusetts. He has remained an active member of the board as an officer at large since then.
Since becoming the sole owner of LDC Inc. in 2003, DeCristofaro has led the company’s operations and introduced proprietary manufacturing processes. His industry affiliations include serving on the boards of the Jewelers Board of Trade and memberships in the Twenty-Four Karat Club of New York City and the Boston Jewelers Club.
Leadership Changes at MJSA and the Education Foundation
Joseph Esposito, the outgoing MJSA board chair, has taken on a new role as the chair of the MJSA Education Foundation. The foundation, a 501(c)(3) subsidiary, supports career development and training for jewelry industry professionals and students. Esposito is currently the executive vice president of National Chain Group, headquartered in Warwick, Rhode Island.
Steven A. Cipolla, president of National Chain Group and former chair of the MJSA Education Foundation, has been appointed as an officer at large.
New and Departing Board Members
The MJSA board welcomed William Taubner, president of Ball Chain Manufacturing Co., as a new director for a three-year term. The family-operated business, established in 1938, is currently the only U.S.-based manufacturer of ball chains.
