The Black in Jewelry Coalition (BIJC) Collective is set to return to Las Vegas, showcasing four Black-owned jewelry brands at the JCK Las Vegas and JCK Luxury exhibitions.
This marks another significant appearance by the collective, promoting diversity and representation within the jewelry industry.
Participating Brands
At JCK Las Vegas, attendees can visit Eleora Gems, Jevela, and Simone I. Smith at booth 10042. Over at JCK Luxury, Dorian Webb will be exhibiting at stand D116.
While Simone I. Smith and Dorian Webb participated last year, Eleora Gems and Jevela are new additions to the collective.
Brand Highlights
Eleora Gems: A Zambia-based company led by CEO and Head of Design Mukosha Mulenga, Eleora Gems focuses on creating fine jewelry using locally sourced materials and coloured gemstones from Zambia and the South African region. The company emphasizes ethical sourcing and community impact by purchasing materials from small-scale miners who practice safe mining methods, ensuring fair compensation and sustainable practices throughout the production process.
Jevela: Founded by Jessenia Landrum in 2019, Jevela crafts distinctive designs meant for everyday wear. Initially starting as a demi-fine brand, Jevela has expanded into the fine jewelry space. Landrum draws inspiration from nature, architecture, and storytelling, inviting customers to wear the jewels as symbols of their personal journey. She was also part of the Natural Diamond Council’s Emerging Designers Diamonds Initiative and received the BIJC’s “Rising Star” Award at its “Rock the Jewels” Awards.
Simone I. Smith: Established by Simone Smith, this brand recently launched the “Simone I. Smith x Misa Hylton ‘Denim & Diamonds’” collection. Smith’s designs focus on empowerment and self-expression, resonating with individuals who seek to make bold statements while embracing their unique stories and individuality.
Dorian Webb: Exhibiting at JCK Luxury, Dorian Webb’s designs celebrate African American culture and the beauty of connection. Her pieces, crafted in 18-karat gold and diamonds, are described as thought-provoking and bold, supporting and sharing stories of African American heritage.
