Polygon Partners with IIG to Strengthen Links Between North American buyers and Indian Manufacturers

Polygon has announced a strategic partnership with the IIG Institute of Gem & Jewelry Private Limited (IIG), a Mumbai-based gemological institution powered by SRDC, aimed at strengthening connections between its North American membership and India’s manufacturing and gemological sector.

As part of the agreement, IIG has joined Polygon’s Industry Alliance, a partner network that also includes organizations such as FedEx, DDCNY and WCDC. The partnership gives IIG co-branded visibility across Polygon’s platform and recognition at Polygon-affiliated trade events.

In return, IIG will introduce Polygon to qualified Indian manufacturers and suppliers, collaborate on industry content and promote the Polygon platform through its alumni network.

    Expanding Industry Connections

India is one of the world’s largest centers for gemstone processing, diamond cutting and jewelry manufacturing, making it a key part of the global jewelry supply chain. Partnerships between international trade platforms and organizations within India’s jewelry sector reflect the industry’s continued focus on strengthening business relationships across markets.

Under the agreement, Polygon members will gain greater access to introductions within India’s manufacturing community, while IIG will increase its visibility among North American jewelry businesses and provide its alumni with access to Polygon’s B2B network.

Sean Lemire, General Director of Polygon, said: “India is one of the most important sourcing and manufacturing hubs in the global jewelry trade, and IIG sits at the center of its gemological education community. This partnership gives our members a more direct line into that ecosystem and gives IIG’s network access to a trusted, professional marketplace built over four decades.”

    Industry Alliance Activities

The partnership will include the development of industry content for distribution across both organizations’ platforms. IIG alumni will also receive an introductory membership rate for Polygon.

The organizations also plan to participate jointly at trade events, with Rahul Desai, Director of the IIG Institute of Gem & Jewelry, taking part in upcoming Polygon sessions as a panelist and moderator.

Desai said: “We’re proud to align with Polygon. Their members are exactly the kind of serious professionals our graduates and manufacturer partners want to do business with.”

    Industry Context

The agreement is the latest example of collaboration between organizations involved in jewelry education, manufacturing and B2B trade. As sourcing networks continue to span multiple markets, partnerships of this nature are intended to facilitate business introductions, professional networking and industry knowledge sharing through events and educational content.
