The Jewelry Symposium (TJS) has announced the introduction of a scholarship programme for its 2024 edition.

Aimed at fostering growth and education within jewelry manufacturing technology, this initiative is set to provide aspiring jewelry professionals with a unique opportunity to engage with the latest industry trends and technologies.

    Scholarship Details

Sponsored by TJS supporters, including C&J Jewelry, Mano Acero Jewelry, and TechForm Advanced Casting, the scholarship programme is designed to support students, interns, apprentices, and those who are in the early stages of their jewelry careers. The programme underscores TJS’s commitment to nurturing talent and innovation within the jewelry sector.

Applicants have to submit their applications through a streamlined digital process till March 29, 2024. A minimum of three recipients will be chosen and notified by April 5, ensuring a transparent and swift selection process.

    What the Scholarship Covers

The beneficiaries of the scholarship will receive comprehensive coverage for their participation in TJS 2024, which is set to take place in Detroit, Michigan, from May 18 to May 21. The scholarship encompasses the symposium registration fee, accommodation for three nights at the Detroit Marriott Troy hotel (May 18, 19, and 20), meals catered by TJS, a book, a thumb drive containing all presentation materials, and a formal certificate of attendance. This package is aimed at ensuring that recipients can fully immerse themselves in the event without financial constraints.

“We are excited to offer free registration, attendance, and accommodations to young jewelry professionals as we aim to achieve our goal of eliminating information-sharing barriers within the industry,” states Linus Drogs, Chairman of Board, TJS. “Scholarship attendees will have access to some of the most experienced and talented makers of fine jewelry from around the world. The current shortage of skilled bench jewelers is a serious concern. Engaging with younger jewelers, especially with our practical, hands-on approach, is critical. We hope these scholarships will allow more young jewelry talent to get involved and get inspired, helping us all grow the future of our beloved fine jewelry industry.”
