Ylang 23 has inaugurated its new flagship store at The Shops of Highland Park in Dallas, a 3,200-square-foot location that marks a significant step in the brand’s nearly 40-year history and underscores its commitment to evolving the customer experience.
New Direction and Design
The relocation, led by Ylang 23’s co-owners Alysa, Joanne, and Charles Teichman, showcases a design born from a collaboration between local and national firms, including Dallas-based B.Russo Designs and New York’s MAOarch, with contributions from Wield Creative and Trace Element.
The new space aims to introduce a fresh color palette and design elements that signal a modern brand direction with noteworthy features including a dedicated shop for Retrouvaí designer Kristy Stone, a custom red travertine table for hosting events and Maison C Coven wallpaper that adds a distinctive touch with its fantasy and folklore-inspired motifs.
Strategic Location and Brand Evolution
Ylang 23’s move to The Shops of Highland Park comes after decades of establishing its presence in Dallas, starting at Galleria Dallas in 1985 before moving to Preston Center. The new location places Ylang 23 near its sister brand, Wildlike, a piercing studio launched by Alysa Teichman in 2021. This proximity aims to offer customers a more integrated shopping experience between the two brands, reflecting a broader trend in the industry where retailers are creating cohesive brand ecosystems.
Continued Commitment to Innovation
“This new space represents a fresh and surprising direction for Ylang 23,” said Alysa Teichman. “After nearly four decades in Dallas, we are proud to continue innovating and enhancing the experience for our cherished customers. This new chapter is a testament to our commitment to excellence and the vibrant community that has supported us throughout the years.”
The relocation and redesign are part of Ylang 23’s broader strategy to maintain relevance in an increasingly competitive market. The brand’s commitment to staying current with design trends and customer preferences highlights the importance of innovation and adaptation in the jewelry retail sector.
A Multi-Generational Endeavor
The Teichman family, who has been at the helm of Ylang 23 since its inception, sees this move as a continuation of the brand’s legacy. “As we celebrate this reimagined Ylang 23 space, I am filled with pride in how our business has thrived and evolved into a multi-generational family endeavor,” said Charles Teichman.
