Signet Appoints Leaders for Zales, Banter and Blue Nile

Signet Jewelers has appointed Jamie Cygielman as president of Zales and Banter and Pam Cloud as president of Blue Nile, placing new leadership at three of its brands as the company continues to develop its portfolio under its Grow Brand Love strategy.

Signet CEO J.K. Symancyk said the appointments are intended to strengthen the individual positioning of the brands and their relationships with customers.

“Grow Brand Love is about creating distinctive brands with clear value propositions and stronger connections to the customers they serve,” Symancyk said. “Jamie and Pam are accomplished leaders who understand how to unlock the potential of iconic brands through consumer insight, innovation and disciplined execution.”

Cygielman to Lead Zales and Banter

Cygielman will oversee Zales and Banter, reporting to Symancyk. She joins Signet after more than three decades in consumer brands, most recently serving as global head of dolls at Mattel and president and general manager of American Girl.

During her time at Mattel, Cygielman worked across brand strategy, product development and consumer engagement, including leadership responsibilities for American Girl and the company’s global dolls portfolio.

At Zales and Banter, she will be responsible for their go-to-market strategies, including product and brand innovation, customer experiences and efforts to expand their consumer reach.

“Both Zales and Banter have such a rich legacy and personal connection with their customers,” Cygielman said. “I am thrilled to be joining Signet at such an exciting and important time and look forward to working alongside the Signet leadership team and both brand teams to honor that heritage while bringing fresh relevance to these iconic brands and creating new ways for customers to celebrate and express their personal style.”

Cygielman will join Signet on August 24 and will be based in Dallas.

Cloud Takes Charge at Blue Nile

Cloud brings more than 30 years of luxury retail experience to Blue Nile, including more than 25 years at Tiffany & Co. At Tiffany, she served as senior vice president and chief merchandising officer and was a member of the company’s executive committee.

Her responsibilities included merchandising and the development of major collections, including Tiffany T, Tiffany Keys and the annual Blue Book high jewelry collection.

Cloud will report to Joan Hilson, Signet’s chief operating and financial officer. At Blue Nile, she will oversee the brand’s strategy across its customer touchpoints as Signet continues to develop its positioning around luxury and natural diamonds.

Hilson said Cloud’s industry experience would support the company’s plans for the brand.

“That’s why I am delighted to welcome Pam to the Blue Nile team,” Hilson said. “Her deep experience in the jewelry industry, proven track record of driving growth, and ability to accelerate innovation and strengthen customer relevance will help us unlock the next phase of Blue Nile’s transformation.”

Cloud said her focus would be on building on Blue Nile’s established online retail model while developing its luxury proposition.

“Blue Nile transformed the way people shop for fine jewelry, and I see tremendous opportunity to build on that legacy by creating an even more elevated, personalized luxury experience,” Cloud said.

Cloud began her role on August 10 and is based in New York City.

What the Appointments Mean for Signet’s Brands

The appointments bring executives with backgrounds in consumer brands and luxury jewelry merchandising into leadership roles across three Signet brands.

Cygielman’s appointment combines responsibility for Zales and Banter under one president, while Cloud will lead Blue Nile separately. Their respective backgrounds also align with the stated focus of each role, with Cygielman bringing experience in consumer brand development and Cloud bringing extensive luxury jewelry merchandising experience.

For the jewelry industry, the changes provide an indication of how Signet is differentiating the roles and positioning of individual brands within its wider portfolio. Zales and Banter will be led together, while Blue Nile will continue to operate under a separate leadership structure as Signet develops its luxury and natural diamond strategy.

Signet’s portfolio also includes KAY Jewelers and Jared Jewelers, alongside Zales, Blue Nile and Banter. The company has not announced any changes to the leadership of those brands as part of these appointments.
