The International Gem & Jewelry Show (IGJS) will return to Jaipur from April 9–11, 2026, with its largest edition to date and an expanded international buyer program tailored for U.S. retailers, manufacturers and designers.

Organized by the Gem & Jewelry Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC), IGJS Jaipur 2026 will feature 150 Indian exhibitors by tripling the number from previous editions and will host 600 international buyers. The show is set within the Jaipur Special Economic Zone (SEZ), which recorded a 317% increase in jewelry exports in the first quarter of FY2025–26.

    Trade Show Overview

IGJS Jaipur is positioned as a dedicated sourcing platform for finished jewelry, gemstones and related products. Exhibitors include suppliers of colored gemstones, diamonds, silver jewelry, plain and studded gold jewelry, and lab-grown diamonds. The show focuses exclusively on international buyers, with curated product offerings from across India’s major jewelry manufacturing centers.

GJEPC Chairman Kirit Bhansali stated, “IGJS Jaipur 2026… will be the largest and most exclusive to date,” referencing a product mix spanning colored gemstones, diamonds, high-design jewelry and silver items.

USA Buyer Program and Factory Visit Extensions

As part of the international outreach strategy, the 2026 USA Buyer Program supports travel for qualified American companies, including airfare, hotel and meals during the Jaipur show. The program also includes an option for factory tour extensions in Mumbai and Surat.

Eligible participants specifically those with annual revenues exceeding $1 million may choose to extend their trip beyond Jaipur:

    • Mumbai extension: Factory visits on April 13–14
    • Surat and Mumbai extension: Surat visits April 13–14, Mumbai visits April 15–16

Each city offers access to specific areas of production:

    • Jaipur: Colored gemstones and handcrafted jewelry, with over 33,000 production units
    • Mumbai: Natural diamonds, polished stones and fine jewelry, supported by over 54,000 units
    • Surat: Lab-grown diamond production and processing, with 9,000 manufacturing units

The factory tours are intended to give buyers direct exposure to India’s vertically integrated production infrastructure.

    Industry Context and Export Performance

India’s gem and jewelry industry employs an estimated 5 million people and remains a leading export sector. Trade data for Q1 FY2025–26 indicates the following growth:

    • Gold jewelry exports: up 25.48% year-on-year to US$2.79 billion
    • Plain gold jewelry exports: up 59.41%
    • Platinum jewelry exports: up 13.48%
    • Colored gemstone exports: up 6.06%

These figures underscore continued international demand across multiple product categories.

    Responsible Sourcing and Certification

Organizers report that many IGJS exhibitors are certified by third-party organizations such as the Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC) and SCS Global Services. Certification is aimed at ensuring ethical sourcing and environmental compliance, a growing focus among global buyers.

    U.S. Coordination and Contact

Olga Gonzalez, CEO of Pietra Communications and a GIA-certified gemologist, has been appointed USA Coordinator for the 2026 program. She will serve as the primary contact for American companies interested in attending the show and participating in the factory tours.

Gonzalez commented, “The IGJS 2026 USA Buyer Program is a gateway for American companies to access India’s jewelry resources,” citing the opportunity to visit production centers and build supplier relationships.

She can be contacted at info@pietrapr.com or by phone at 212-913-9761.
