Phillips will feature a selection of notable pieces at its December 13 New York Jewels sale, led by a 43.15-carat yellow diamond ring.
This Old European brilliant-cut fancy yellow, VS2-clarity diamond is the event’s top lot, with an estimated sale price of up to $850,000. The ring is part of a larger catalog of nearly 150 jewelry pieces.
Cristina Rodrigo, head of the sale, highlighted the appeal of antique-cut diamonds, which are gaining interest among collectors.
“The auction features exceptional pieces from important makers, such as René Boivin, Suzanne Belperron, and Jean Schlumberger, alongside stunning offerings in the colored-gemstones and diamond categories,” said Rodrigo. “We’re particularly excited to present several examples of antique-cut diamonds, which are enjoying a surge in popularity right now. Our top lot…is a striking example.”
