The MJSA Education Foundation has launched a fundraising campaign supported by a matching challenge from National Chain Group, which will match donations up to $5,000.
The campaign includes four sponsorship levels, designed to suit different levels of contributions, each offering specific acknowledgements.
Foundation’s Role
As a 501(c)3 subsidiary of MJSA, the Foundation focuses on supporting career and training opportunities in jewelry making and design. Recent initiatives include starting the industry’s first Mentor & Apprenticeship Program, recognised by the U.S. Department of Labor, and accepting applications for scholarships from aspiring jewelry professionals.
“To continue to thrive, the jewelry industry needs a well-trained workforce and a healthy pipeline for the next generation of jewelers,” states Steve Cipolla (right), chairman of the Foundation and president of National Chain Group. “The MJSA Education Foundation provides the tools and initiatives to meet both of those goals. It’s crucial for those of us who benefit from the Foundation’s activities to give back and support them. I encourage everyone to join me in supporting these important initiatives.”
Objectives
The funds from the campaign will be used to:
- Broaden the apprenticeship program and enhance online resources.
- Facilitate jewellers’ access to federal funding and state tax credits by adopting its curriculum.
- Develop professional development programs.
- Increase the number of available scholarships for jewelry-focused students.
Industry Implications
This fundraising effort aims to strengthen the jewelry industry’s workforce by providing enhanced training and educational resources. Such initiatives are vital for maintaining the industry’s competitiveness, ensuring a well-trained workforce is available to meet future challenges. The partnership between MJSA and National Chain Group reflects a commitment to investing in the industry’s continued growth and excellence.
