Essentially, if your jewelry has manufacturing defects or needs maintenance, James Allen will take care of it at no additional cost to you. If your jewelry requires services not covered by the lifetime warranty, you can send it to James Allen for evaluation. If there are charges, you will be notified before any work is done.


In addition to the Lifetime Warranty, James Allen offers two JM Care Plans that you can purchase during checkout. The 3-Year Upgraded Protection Plan provides additional coverage beyond the free lifetime warranty for a set period, covering more extensive repair needs. The Lifetime Upgraded Protection Plan offers the most comprehensive protection, extending coverage for the entire lifetime of your jewelry.


What’s covered by James Allen’s warranty?


James Allen’s warranty is quite extensive. Under the Free Lifetime Warranty, your jewelry is covered for prong tightening, re-polishing, rhodium plating, and cleaning services. These services ensure that your jewelry remains in excellent condition throughout its lifetime.


If you opt for the JM Care Plans, additional services are covered. These include repairs for broken, bent, or worn prongs, center stone replacement due to faulty settings, accent stone replacement, cracked or thinning band repair, clasp repair, cracked or chipped stone replacement, earring post repair, and pearl restringing. What isn’t covered by James Allen’s warranty?

For these issues, the JM Care Plans offer extended coverage. The warranty also does not cover lost or stolen items; you may need separate insurance for this type of protection. Additionally, any repairs or modifications done by third parties can void the warranty, so it’s important to always return your jewelry to James Allen for any work needed. Cosmetic damages such as scratches and dents that do not affect the structural integrity of the jewelry are typically not covered.

Other things you should know about James Allen’s warranty policy


Here are some additional details that are important to keep in mind:


If you need to send your jewelry back to James Allen for warranty work, U.S. customers can purchase a fully insured shipping label for $30. International customers will need to cover the return shipping costs applicable to their order. However, James Allen will ship your item back to you free of charge after the repairs are done.


To make a warranty claim, you’ll need to provide proof of purchase. This ensures that the item is indeed from James Allen and qualifies for their warranty services.


The warranty extends to items that are purchased as gifts, provided the recipient has the proof of purchase and adheres to the warranty conditions.


James Allen also offers a Lifetime Upgrade Policy. Any loose natural diamond purchased from James Allen can be exchanged at 100% credit for any replacement natural diamond of at least twice the value. The same applies to loose lab-grown diamonds, provided the replacement is at least twice the value. The diamond being upgraded must be in original condition and accompanied by the original laboratory grading document.
