I purchased a new wedding ring for my wife of 24 years. Her original ring went missing about 20 years ago and she would never let me replace it. I decided it had been long enough for her not wearing a wedding ring.
Me and our 2 kids surprised her with this very simple but beautiful 1.5 carat princess cut white gold ring. My experience was excellent though the entire process. Every individual I spoke with was very professional and customer service driven. I would not only recommend James Allen to others, I will be back again. I have it saved as one of my favorites.

We were able to pick the setting and diamond and see it all in a 360 view up close with a diamond expert to help us make an educated and smart decision. Not only did I absolutely love my ring but we also purchased our wedding bands here too! The service was extraordinary! They listened to our concerns and our budget & wishes. I purchased a 0.32 carat round brilliant diamond to be used in a pendant for my 14-year old daughter. At first I was hesitant about purchasing a diamond online. But after reading all the positive reviews and the free shipping and 30-day return policy, I decided to work with James Allen.
I spent close to a month looking at various options via phone call as well as the online chat system. I lost out on a couple diamonds I was considering because I did not know that I could request a 48-hour hold.
I liked being able to purchase a GIA-certified diamond with the accompanying report.
Local jewelers wanted more money than I paid for diamonds that were not certified and I had no verification of the cut, color and clarity other than the salesperson’s word.
Local jewelers also incorrectly claimed that diamonds under 1/2 carat do not get GIA reports. I explored this with James Allen, and they assured me their GIA reports were valid.
James Allen also clarified that the smaller diamonds do not get the “mapping” part of the GIA report.
The James Allen representatives spent a great deal of time identifying possible stones and then looking at them in detail to help me make the best choice.
I wanted an Excellent cut, polish and symmetry. I wanted at least H color, and I wanted a lot of sparkle. I looked at various options, and ultimately a representative helped identify a stone of G color, Excellent on cut, polish and symmetry, and although an SI1 clarity, it is eye clean and the “flaw” is not in an obvious place. It arrived in a beautiful box.
I can’t wait to have this set for my daughter. (I did not have it set by James Allen because we want the prong setting to be in platinum and the chain to be 18K yellow gold; James Allen did not unfortunately offer this level of customization).
My daughter will have this forever, and she will know what the quality of the stone is.
I feel that James Allen provided an amazing value. I live in the Silicon Valley, am an informed consumer and have very high expectations. James Allen exceeded my expectations. I will be purchasing diamond stud earrings for my daughter when the time arrives, and I look forward to the same amazing purchase experience.
Purchased a GIA certified loose diamond because of the GIA certification (research why this is important online) and how much more affordable the stones were compared to the IGI certified diamonds I shopped at local retailers.
The package was delivered a day earlier than quoted. I had it shipped to a FedEx pickup location to conceal it from my future fiance (fingers crossed).
When I picked it up, the box was much larger than expected, this was due to the totally unexpected and wonderfully pleasant packaging setup. It arrived in a shoebox-sized package that offered an unboxing experience that surprisingly made me feel a lot better about swallowing the financially large purchase of such a tiny object — kudos to whomever thought of this. I would recommend.
Just an excellent experience all the way! Great customer service and quality. I had my doubts at first but got really amazed with the final result. Even though you are online, you feel the attention as if you are in a physical store.
Well, we got there in the end. After a great original online experience choosing my perfect diamond, I was then told that the diamond that I originally selected had been sold out from under me.
The customer service rep offered me another one, which is beautiful, and I am very pleased with the final ring.
However, shipping also took a little longer than originally promised although I had built a buffer into my timings which meant that everything worked out.
As I said, I am pleased with the final ring, but the purchase process and delivery was a little bumpy. I guess my advice would be to just make sure that you build in some extra time when buying something like a diamond online.
Let me start of by saying how easy it was to conduct business with this company. I spent about 3 months looking at all the website’s, local businesses around my city as well as sitting down with diamond brokers ( referrals). I always came back to James Allen. The layout of the website is amazing and it is nice to see the actual stone in full HD before you buy it. I chose a 4.6 I IF which I could not find any place else and the the price on the diamond was priced better then some SI , VVS and VVS1 diamonds on the market.
My next step was to click and make the purchase , I won’t lie having to wire $100,000 made me very uneasy and unsure but from the follow up within minutes of every time I reached out to these people made it so easy. I didn’t realize how quick and easy you can spend $100,000 lol. The follow up, customer service and over all experience was A plus!!!
If you are in the market to purchase a Diamond, I highly highly suggest you go to James Allen ! I live in Canada and again though it was weird to buy this special ring from them but again they made it easier then me walking in a local store. Ohhh yeah did I mention Best Price as well!!

Purchased a wedding ring for my husband. The process was simple, the ring arrived in a very timely manner, was the correct item, looked well, the inscription was accurate, the ring was a good price and arrived nicely and very well packaged. Importantly, you could not tell from the exterior package that jewelry was inside.

The order took a little longer than expected because the earrings had to actually be made by the jeweler. But I was in no rush and was very particular about the earrings. So it was worth the wait.
The quality is outstanding and the diamonds are super sparkly.
Customer service was also very responsive as easy to reach even during the off hours.
Would certainly recommend this company.
My experience on JamesAllen.com couldn’t have been better. I love the fact that they had a real time video and a super zoom option. It really made a difference looking at the diamond up close. Absolutely love the education tab. It’s very detailed and educational about diamonds and metals. Fast shipping. Incredible packaging. Absolutely loved it. Selected this band and lab created diamond. I wanted something vintage but dainty, and this is everything I could have hoped for! I included a side shot to show the low profile, perfect for those who worry about their ring getting caught on anything. Pictures simply do not do justice to the beauty of this ring and diamond. Specs on the lab created diamond: 0.83ct E VS2. Setting is .32ct diamonds. Little story, this is not my first wedding ring, but the center diamond weight points to our anniversary (August 2003) and total weight comes to 1.15ctw (our son’s birthday is on a 1st and our daughter’s birthday on a 15th). Our experience with James Allen went perfectly – excellent customer service, on-time delivery, and beautiful craftsmanship. And I love that it can be serviced at our local Jared (was one of my concerns with ordering from an online retailer). We couldn’t be happier!
**Edited to add that with closer inspection, the center stone is slightly off-center within the setting. I took it Jared and they fixed it within 10 minutes, it was amazing! Maintaining 5-star review.
