What is Alexis Bittar’s warranty policy?


Alexis Bittar offers a six-month limited warranty on its jewelry, handbags, and small leather goods, effective from the original date of purchase. This warranty covers any defects in the materials or how the product was made, as long as it was used under normal conditions. If your item develops a problem during this period, Alexis Bittar will replace it with the same or a comparable product at no charge, though they cannot guarantee that the original piece can be repaired.


To make a warranty claim, you will need to provide proof of purchase from the Alexis Bittar website, boutiques, or an authorized retailer. This is essential—whether you bought the item for yourself or received it as a gift, you’ll need to show this documentation to proceed. Another important step is to get prior authorization before sending anything in. Alexis Bittar will issue a return authorization number (RA#), which you’ll need to include with your return. If you send something back without this number, it will be sent back to you at your own expense.


For items that fall outside the six-month warranty, Alexis Bittar may still offer repairs, but this is done on a case-by-case basis. If repair is possible, you’ll be responsible for both the repair cost and shipping fees.

What’s covered by Alexis Bittar’s warranty?


The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that show up during everyday use within the first six months. This means if there is an issue with how the item was made or the materials used, and the problem arises under normal conditions, it should be covered. If your claim is approved, Alexis Bittar will replace your item with either the same piece or something comparable. They will not return the defective item.


What isn’t covered by Alexis Bittar’s warranty?


Alexis Bittar’s warranty doesn’t cover damage that comes from accidents, misuse, or general wear and tear. For example, if you drop your jewelry or accidentally damage it, that won’t be covered. Similarly, natural changes in materials like leather darkening over time from exposure to sunlight or oils are considered normal aging and are not covered. If you’ve tried to repair or modify the item yourself or through someone else, it won’t qualify for coverage either.


It’s also important to note that Alexis Bittar only honors the warranty on items purchased from authorized retailers, their website, or their boutiques. If your purchase came from an unauthorized seller, it won’t be eligible. In addition, antique and vintage items sold by Alexis Bittar are not covered by any warranty due to their age and delicate nature.

There are a few other things to keep in mind. First, you need to get prior authorization before sending in any returns or repairs. If you don’t, Alexis Bittar will send your item back at your own expense, and they won’t be responsible for any items lost during shipping. For items that are repaired outside the warranty period, Alexis Bittar will charge a repair fee, and you’ll also need to pay for the shipping costs to and from their studio.


Domestic shipping for repaired items comes with a flat fee of $6, but if you’re shipping internationally, the fee will vary based on your location. You also have the option to provide your own shipping label and customs documents if you prefer. Whatever method you choose, Alexis Bittar recommends using a trackable shipping service to avoid losing your item, as they won’t be responsible for items lost by your chosen shipping carrier.


Finally, if you send an item for repair and don’t respond to their inquiries within six months, Alexis Bittar is not responsible for keeping the item beyond that time frame. Make sure to stay in touch during the process to avoid losing your piece.
